Chemical Peels rejuvenate the skin leaving a clearer fresher looking complexion by treating the outer layer of the skin in just one treatment.
A Chemical face peel gently removes the outer layer of old skin from the face to reveal a newer, more vibrant layer. The chemical peel solution applied causes trauma to the epidermis of the skin, which causes the outer layers to peel away. When the skin begins to heal, increased cell growth produces new, healthier skin layers that give the face a more youthful appearance. Our chemical peels use naturally occurring acids and active ingredients to brighten the skin.
Chemical face peels can be a simple, fast and highly effective way to achieve radiant skin. They can also be used to dramatically lessen the appearance of breakouts or marks on the skin from previous breakouts.
Whether you’re looking for brighter skin, or something to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, a chemical peel could be just what you need. Peels have come a long way in recent years, and we’ve researched the best ones for superior results. You no longer need to hide at home for a few days afterwards due to soreness or redness. We offer chemical peels that really work yet come with little – if any - downtime.
At Rebecca Devine Aesthetics, we combine our chemical peels with other procedures such as micro-needling and IPL to provide an advanced and highly effective treatment.
Looking for a new, radiant you? Rebecca Beech and Ian Devine are your safe pair of hands.
When it comes to a chemical peel, you need to trust your practitioner, and to know that they have the expertise you need. After all, it your face. Your wellbeing. For your complete peace of mind, we’re both highly trained and qualified Level 6 CPD and VTCT (ITEC).
We have the skills and experience to know which peel could work best for you, and of course, will offer you all the advice you need on aftercare.
In a nutshell, a chemical peel works a little like an exfoliator – only much more powerfully. We’ll apply the peel to your face, neck or hands so that your skin is restored to its original PH level. And, the good news is that it will keep working its magic when you leave our clinic.
The actual process will depend on the peel that you choose. Your skin will be cleansed, with the treatment left in place for a specific period. Or, you may not even have to wash off the peel, which is great if you need to continue with your busy day.
Each of our three chemical peels has salicylic, lactic and glycolic acids in varying percentages, depending on your skin’s condition.
Problem or acne prone skin - A peel can go deeper than any traditional acne treatment.
Skin brightening - Dull, tired skin? Let’s talk about the right chemical peel for a clearer complexion.
Anti-ageing - Noticing some fine lines you don’t like? Let a chemical peel come to the rescue.
The following aftercare advice is essential to help reduce the risk of treatment complications, to improve your comfort/healing and to help achieve the best possible results from treatment. • The treated area of skin may feel slightly tender and appear red and swollen afterwards. You may occasionally experience skin peeling and appearances may be similar to mild sunburn. These effects will resolve naturally and should be much improved after 48 hours but may take longer to settle. Avoid any perfumes, fake tan or other harsh chemicals for 72 hours after treatment.• Avoid any makeup for 24 hours after treatment as this can increase the risk of infection. • Avoid rubbing or picking the treated area. • Avoid any skin exfoliation for 72 hours following treatment. • It is important to use a regular moisturising cream around two to three times a day on the treated area. Use more regularly if you feel the skin dry or peeling. • Avoid any products that contain alpha hydroxy acids, retinol, and glycolic acid for at least 7 days after treatment. • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, sunbeds and exposure to heat for 72 hours after treatment. These can cause sweating which can irritate the delicate skin and slow down your ability to heal quickly. • Avoid swimming for 72 hours after treatment. • Avoid any excess alcohol or caffeine for 48 hours after treatment. • Wear SPF 30 or greater sunscreen for at least 2 weeks following treatment as your skin will be more sensitive to sunlight afterwards. • Avoid any further cosmetic treatments e.g. Botox or dermal filler for 2 weeks following treatment, or ask your practitioner for advice. • Avoid any hair removal treatments such as waxing for 2 weeks after treatment or until the initial redness and swelling has resolved. • We do not anticipate there will be any, but you must seek medical attention and contact your practitioner if you experience any signs or symptoms of infection after treatment.
A friend recommended Rebecca Devine Aesthetics. I am so glad she did. Rebecca was friendly and very professional. I had the IPL skin rejuvenation on my face with a chemical peel and IPL pigmentation removal on my arms and hands. I am very happy with the results. After the treatments, my skin looks rejuvenated and glowing. I have booked another appointment for hair removal.
